Indalo Inclusive South Africa welcomes a new Team Member

2019 is not only a new year for Indalo Inclusive South Africa but also brings on board an additional member to the team.  We welcome on board our Financial Coordinator, Farai Mauchaza.

Farai Mauchaza holds a BCom degree from Rhodes University and boast over 5 years of working experience in various positions including Credit Analyst and Accounting Manager for both the Financial Services and Not for Profit Sectors in South Africa.

Farai resumed her duties at Indalo Inclusive on 01 February and will be responsible for financial management and planning as well as assisting with financial strategies.  She will from time to time also join our Programme Support Team on workshops to share some insights on financial planning and management with our Start-Ups.


As we are already rolling out some of our exciting programme for 2019, such as the SEED South Africa Symposium, the Policy Prototyping Lab, the Climate Finance Practitioners Lab and the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) Starter Workshops; We are sure that this will be a thrilling time for Farai at Indalo Inclusive.

She is not only passionate about numbers but also has interest for reading and International travel.

From the team at Indalo Inclusive, we look forward to creating new memories and also empowering many more Indalopreneurs.

Rest Kanju

Head of National Operations

Rest Kanju joined the SEED South Africa team in 2014. He moved from being a Coordinator of the SEED Programme in South Africa to the position of  Director and Head of Operations for Indalo. Rest has  over 20 years career experience in conservation and development and worked for various organisations in the Southern African region including ResourceAfrica, The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the IUCN and International Labour Organisation (ILO). It was at the ILO where he worked in the support of international and national tourism enterprises through the SCORE Project.

He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree with a double Major in Environmental and Geographical Science and Industrial Sociology from the University of Cape Town. He also has postgraduate certificates in Environmental Law (Wits), Environmental Management (UCT) and Resource Economics (Rhodes University). He has also completed all required Module courses for a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation with Wits University.








Vivian Phetla

Programmes Coordinator

Vivian Phetla joined SEED in June 2016 as South Africa Support. Her role at SEED is to offer administration support in organising training activities, in liaison with partners and identifying networking opportunities for SEED in the Country. She is also the central and first contact point for SEED global and country partners and network in support of the National Coordinator.

Before joining SEED, Vivian worked as a Programmes Manager: Training at the Southern African Wildlife College where she managed field related training activities for field rangers, law enforcement officers and reserve managers or section rangers from various National Parks, Nature Reserves and private game farms in South Africa and the SADC region. Vivian holds a National Diploma in Game Ranch Management from Tshwane University of Technology.



Jona Liebl

Head of Programmes

Jona Liebl has supported SEED since 2010 and is in charge of the operational management and implementation of the SEED Programmes. In his position as Senior Project Manager at adelphi research. Jona works on projects in the area of sustainability entrepreneurship, corporate responsibility and green and inclusive business models.

Prior to joining adelphi, he trained as IT Specialist at Hewlett-Packard. He also worked as Programme Assistant at the UNDP Equator Initiative and was a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Equator Prize 2012 and 2014.

Jona holds a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Political Science from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). He was a visiting fellow at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).

entrepreneurship development.


Strengthen Enterprise Ecosystems » We work with partners at the national and international level to enhance the quality and capacities of business development service (BDS) providers. This improves the business environment of social and environmental enterprises, facilitating access to advisory services and ultimately, access to finance. This, we do through the provision of toolkits, the implementation of Training of Trainers and the co-development of an international standard for BDS providers.



Shaping Green and Inclusive Policies » We gather evidence on how social and environmental enterprises grow, which barriers they face and which measurable impacts they achieve. Thus, it provides key insights for national and international policy-makers. This promotes enabling frameworks and improved market conditions for social and environmental enterprises. Through these policy insights, we advocate the development and implementation of green and inclusive private sector policies accelerating entrepreneurial solutions to policy- and decision-makers.


Building Partnerships for Impact » Indalo Inclusive in corporation in with adelphi host Symposia, National Dialogue Fora and Workshops that stimulate an exchange of experiences and peer-learning while also triggering South-South collaboration. This enhances partnerships between and within all involved stakeholders to support the systemic uptake of entrepreneurial solutions to social and environmental problems.
